The 2024 Metro Area Envirothon for Junior High (grades 6-8) and Senior High (grades 9-12) teams will be held April 25, 2024, at the Izaak Walton League MN Valley Chapter in Bloomington, MN.
The Envirothon is an outdoor, interactive, educational competition for students eager to learn more about Minnesota’s natural resources and current environmental topics. This competition includes five learning stations lead by agency professionals that are followed by a 20-point exam. The topics include Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, Wildlife, and Current Events (rotating topic). Students prepare a presentation based on the current events scenario. The scores for each learning station and presentation are totaled to select the top three teams that will go on to compete at the State Envirothon.
